The Columbia University Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu club is affliated with the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City, and several of our members have trained at Renzo's in the past or are currently training there. At one time, many years ago, we were taught by Matt Serra, who then went on to become a UFC welterweight champion. Our current head instructor, Jason Yang, studied with Matt here at Columbia. Jason went on to obtain his Black Belt from Renzo and has since taken over teaching the club.
We practice Monday and Wednesdays 7-9 and have an open mat on Saturdays from 4-6. We practice in the Dodge Wrestling Room.
