Columbia University Robotics Club (or CURC) is made up of three departments (electrical, mechanical, software), and each department will meet in person to work on workshops and tasks related to the projects this year. The software team will work on developing autonomous navigation and computer vision software. The MechE team will work with modeling software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.) and tools in the MakerSpace and Machine Shop. Electrical will use circuit design and simulation software (KiCAD) and produce circuits for use in the projects.
Columbia University Robotics Club focuses our efforts on building a robot to compete in regional/national competitions. Every department has several projects planned for the first three to four weeks of each semester to train new members useful skills before diving into the interdisciplinary projects.
