We are the Penn State Student Chapter of Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG).
AWG is a student-led organization that seeks to enhance the community and participation of all people interested in Geoscience at Penn State. We are a diverse group of undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty from all majors relating to the Earth Sciences. We host several events each month that range from pie cooking competitions to soccer Sundays to outreach events at local schools with the aim of making a better and more supportive community for everyone. Importantly, most of our events and all our meetings involve free food! Membership is also free! One of our most important activities is every year we fundraise and donate money to an undergrad scholarship, which most often goes towards field camp but has also been used for conferences and grad school application costs.
