This organization shall be called Atmospheric Aggies AMS Chapter and will serve the atmospheric and meteorological interests of the broader Sacramento Valley region. This chapter will focus on connecting students, community members, educators, and professionals in the joint pursuit of promoting interdisciplinary collaboration across institutions and contributing to the professional development of members through talks, workshops, and field opportunities. Members will include local college students and professors, National Weather Service meteorologists and hydrologists, television/radio weather professionals, and community members with an interest in atmospheric science. This chapter of the AMS will serve as the nexus for the exchange of ideas and information across the region and will take on a leading role in mentoring the next generation of local atmospheric scientists.
