Global Medical Brigades at UC Davis is a chapter of Global Brigades, one of the largest, international, non-profit organizations aimed at empowering communities across the globe to gain health and economic equality through the help of student volunteers.

What is Global Medical Brigades at UC Davis?
Global Medical Brigades (GMB) at UC Davis is a non-profit, student-led international medical experience to improve the health and well-being of under-served populations throughout the world. Our student volunteers have the opportunity to travel abroad to places such as Central America, Ghana, and Greece to provide assistance through clinics and public health activities in under-resourced populations. In conjunction with the other seven Global Brigade divisions, we strive on the holistic approach and support these communities to become self-sustaining in the health and economic aspects. Our UC Davis chapter also focuses on bringing these aspects of public health, empowerment, and solidarity to our local communities through various community service projects.
When does GMB at UC Davis recruit members?
We typically hold recruitment during Fall Quarter and Spring Quarter. We host information sessions and an open general meeting during our recruitment season for interested students to attend and find out more about what GMB at UC Davis does. All interested students are required to fill out an application to join our organization.
What activities do members of GMB at UC Davis participate in?
Our members have the opportunity to participate in community service, club committees, brigade-preparation activities, fundraising events, social events.
Some past events we have held include mock clinics, suture clinics, Basic Life Support training, wellness hikes, Game Night socials, MU Bowling socials, Blaze Pizza fundraisers, Sweet and Shavery fundraisers, Jamba Juice fundraisers, and more!
