Founded in 1876 by Theodore Presser and sixty-two of his friends, the Music Teachers National Association is currently the largest professional, non-profit music teachers organization in the world. More than 26,000 members—comprised of independent and collegiate music teachers—are committed to furthering the art of music through teaching, performance, composition and scholarly research. This collegiate chapter aims to be active in five key areas: Recruitment and Exposure, Community and Teacher Service, Research and Presentations, Collaboration and Networking, and Fundraising.
