Project MED is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, originally started at Northwestern University, that focuses on educating and preparing high school students for careers in healthcare, particularly in underserved communities. The two main goals are exposure: providing students with insights into the wide range of healthcare professions, using hands-on workshops and peer mentorship programs, and preparation: providing students with the necessary skills and knowledge as a gateway to pursue successful careers in health. Our organization consists of three pillars: MEDLearn (workshops and speakers), MEDLead (peer mentorship), and MEDLaunch (database of opportunities for careers in health). As a whole, Project MED helps bridge the gap in healthcare career disparities and promotes diversity in healthcare.
