The Tamil Student Association at the University of Michigan is dedicated to celebrating and sharing the rich heritage of Tamil arts, food, and culture with the university community. Our mission is to create a vibrant space for students to connect with Tamil traditions and build a strong, supportive community. We aim to foster appreciation for Tamil language, arts, and history while providing a platform for students of Tamil origin or those with an interest in Tamil culture to engage and grow.We proudly organize cultural events and activities that bring the Tamil community together, including the celebration of major festivals like Pongal and Tamil New Year. These events showcase traditional Tamil music, dance, food, and rituals, offering an authentic experience of Tamil culture. In addition, we host movie screenings, performances, and culinary gatherings to celebrate the artistry and cuisine unique to Tamil Nadu.Our club is committed to enriching the cultural diversity of the University of Michigan by collaborating with other student organizations and participating in university-wide events. Led by a passionate team of volunteers, we work to ensure that our activities not only strengthen the Tamil community but also invite the broader student body to experience the beauty of Tamil arts and traditions.
