A Few Cooks aims to address food insecurity in the Atlanta area. We believe that healthy food is a key to good health and happiness. This is primarily fulfilled with our weekly trips. Along with making a difference for underserved people in Atlanta, we shine spotlights on gastronomy from other countries to enrich the pallets of others and educate volunteers on different cuisines. Finally, we have an end of semester formula for donating extra meal swipes. With the help of Emory cooks and generous students, we strive to donate hundreds of meals that would otherwise go to waste. Overall, one can sum up the pillars of A Few Cooks with two words: Educate (education in nutrition/gastronomy) and Alleviate (alleviate food insecurity).
