We invite you to join us in creating the possibility of a more engaged and creative future through conversation with people who have different histories and perspectives but, like you, are committed to being more just and dynamic community members. We understand that one of the primary ways to enhance our community is through the exploration of the myriad of ways our diverse identities and experiences can be mined and combined to produce innovative solutions to complex problems. The Emory Conversation Project (ECP) provides students opportunities to acquire skills that allows them to effectively engage about and across their differences in a manner that transforms those encounters into wellsprings of curiosity and ingenuity. A commitment to curating spaces and skills for collaborative discussions that collective problem-solving is at the heart of the ECP’s work. While we see Emory Conversation Project dialogues as an opportunity to share stories, establish new relationships, and transform our future, we will not use this time together trying to find consensus, debating the past, or cultivating policy responses. Facilitators participate in the following:
Attending weekly meetings on Thursday from 6 PM- 7:30 PM. Activities will include: Semi-formal training sessions to build facilitation skills, Receiving a certificate of Collaborative Discussions from the Interactivity Foundation Assisting with the planning of dialogues Sitcom night! (We watch some TV and discuss it) Being a supportive member of the Barkley Forum Coming on field trips around Atlanta with us!
