The growing field of Medical Genetics has expanded its role in clinical practice (developmental pediatrics, metabolic geneticists, genetic oncology, prenatal care, etc.) and new technologies are allowing the incorporation of genetic testing and treatment across many specialties in medicine. With this interest group, it is our mission to:
Increase medical student genetics literacy, knowledge of Medical Genetics as a career option, and recognition of the role of genetics in patient care across all specialties.
Provide opportunities to meet and network with a variety of healthcare professionals within the field of medical genetics.
Share opportunities to shadow and engage in clinical research in the field of medical genetics (adult and pediatric).
Engage with volunteer organizations that promote the awareness/treatment/research of genetic conditions
