GSEI introduces STEM fields to middle schoolers from schools in the greater Atlanta area. Mentors guide students (K-12) through our curriculum and empower them to pursue STEM careers. As a mentor, you are either committing to our weekly after-school programs or help run one-time events like our booth at Atlanta Science Festival or our Spring Hackathon. If selected we will train you on everything you need to know, and transportation will be provided.
We have a STEM mentoring program that visits Title-1 middle schools twice a week, teaching the basics of cancer cell biology and statistics. We also host hackathons and coding camps for girls to develop their passions.
At the yearly Atlanta Science Festival, we teach children microscope techniques and other basic science skills.
We also host monthly general body meetings for Emory students to engage with STEM professionals in multiple fields.
