Gift of Life - Emory raises awareness for the stem-cell and marrow donation process. In collaboration with the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, one of the nation's public blood stem-cell and bone marrow registries, Gift of Life - Emory organizes events, campaigns, trainings, and seminars to register new potential donors and educate the community about the stem-cell and marrow donation process. Gift of Life - Emory is dedicated to expanding the registry and supporting those who have been affected by blood cancer and other conditions that can be treated by stem-cell transplantation. Participating as a member of Gift of Life at Emory University will primarily involve volunteering at drives to recruit donors via the cheek swab. Through raising awareness of the cause, students will have various volunteering opportunities and will collaborate with many other organizations on campus. If they sign up for the registry, they will have the opportunity to potentially save the life of a patient in need. There are also opportunities to get involved with the national Gift of Life organization. Members can be as involved as they’d like.
