NAMI at Emory is a collective of those who are passionate about mental health/illness. The organization strives to educate, empower, and advocate for the Emory community separate from Counseling and Psychological Services. The organization hosts several programs, including a mental health peer support group run by credentialed students for students. Additionally, the organization provides opportunities for students to get trained to serve the greater Atlanta community as mental health first responders, and mental illness educators in efforts to shift the culture around mental health. Some of these opportunities also serve as a chance for clinical exposure. Furthermore, NAMI at Emory streamlines the connection of current students dealing with mental health challenges to available resources on and off campus.
