The purpose of the South Asian Medical Student Association is two-fold: (1) to provide a community for South Asian students and students of South Asian descent at EUSOM to share culture, tradition, and experiences and (2) to raise awareness about social, health, and medical issues within the South Asian diaspora. We hope to be inclusive of students with backgrounds from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Indo-Caribbean. The South Asian Medical Student Association intends to achieve its goal by holding events such as guest speaker events, screenings, discussions and other appropriate activities.
