The Student Animal Legal Defense Fund's mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. The SALDF takes the position to be influential advocates for changing the law to better protect animals and aids you in learning about different areas of the law. The SALDF works to promote education, advocacy, community outreach and scholarship aimed to protect the lives of animals. Animal law is a growing area of law and uses the combination of statutory and case law that relates to or has an impact on animals. Animal law permeates and affects most traditional areas or law, including tort, contract, criminal, and constitutional law. There are more than 160 chapters of SALDF at law schools through the U.S.
