The purposes of this organization shall be preparing for theAnimal Welfare and Assessment Contest (herein referred to as AWJAC), educating and serving our peers and community, and providing students with networking, service, and research opportunities in the fields of animal welfare and applied ethology. MSU AWC shall focus these efforts on understanding and improving an animal's quality of life using peer-reviewed scientific research, the three elements of animal welfare as described by the Farm Animal Welfare Education Centre, and the Five Freedoms as described by the Farm Animal Welfare Council. MSU AWCʻs ultimate mission is to build a community dedicated to improving animal welfare and supporting humane animal use through education and outreach.
