The Michigan State Powerlifting club aims to promote casual strength training and competitive powerlifting through the training of the barbell squat, barbell bench press, and barbell deadlift. MSUPL welcomes all members regardless of their training experience, and holds high standards of scholarship, sportsmanship, and fellowship amongst members. Members train at all gyms in the Lansing area, and we do not have a home gym that we train at as a group. This benefits us in the fact that members are not restricted to a certain place they must train in.Beyond training and competing, members are welcomed to a variety of social events such as a hayride in the fall, tailgates, holiday events, powerlifting livestream watch parties, group dinners, gym meet ups and more. We also aim to educate members who are new to powerlifting with informational events 1-2 times a month where we present on topics such as competing in your first meet, how to use programming and more. If you are interested in joining us this semester, please send us an email or DM us your MSU email over instagram so we can add you to our email list. We will be in touch with all interested members in the fall!
