Alpha Chi Sigma (AXS/ΑΧΣ) is a national co-educational, professional chemistry fraternity dedicated to providing opportunities for study and leadership, as well as forming friendships and connections among students interested in chemistry and related fields. Founded on December 11, 1902, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, AXS unites collegiate and professional members from a vast range of majors, careers, and professions under the three objects of the fraternity: To bind its members with a tie of true and lasting friendship. To strive for the advancement of chemistry both as a science and as a profession.To aid its members by every honorable means in the attainment of their ambitions as chemists throughout their mortal lives.Through membership, community service, professional development, and social events, AXS aims to serve as the gateway that brings together students from different backgrounds, interests, and mindsets.
