Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purposes of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. The Boston University Chapter of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, is an organization of Psychology students interested in maintaining excellence in scholarship, as well as volunteering and coming together to help the community and to advance achievements in the field of Psychology. The BU chapter holds meetings each semester and participates in activities, such as hosting guest speakers, coordinating fund-raising and social events, etc. Psi Chi also collaborates with the Department's Undergraduate Psychology Association to sponsor various events throughout the year. Membership is open to both graduate and undergraduate students who are concentrating in Psychology and who meet the minimum qualifications which are: - successful completion of 3 semesters for undergraduates, or 1 semester for graduate students - completion of a minimum of 3 psychology courses - an overall GPA of 3.3 - a psychology GPA of 3.0 For questions and other concerns about the application and/or the organization, please email psichi@bu.edu.
