The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE-BostonU) is an organization dedicated to the empowerment of the Hispanic community in Boston and Boston University through STEM access, awareness, support, and development. We reach our goals by providing our members the support they need to succeed, both academically and professionally through various workshops and Study Nights geared towards bridging the gaps in those fields! Not only is SHPE-BostonU a professional organization, but we also encourage and foster the feeling of a familia of Latinx students in STEM at Boston University. We have social events to get to know one another in a more relaxed atmosphere such as mixers with other SHPE chapters or going to try Hispanic food around Boston. And we also host events that celebrate the beauty of the Latinx culture and community such as Cafecitos which are culturally geared discussions on topics such as mental health or colorism! SHPE-BostonU welcomes everyone from any background, race, ethnicity or major to join our organization! As long as you also want to empower the Hispanic community in STEM, you are eligible and more than welcome to join! Welcome to your familia!
