Because BU is such a large school, it makes it easy to be disconnected and disengaged from what’s going on on campus. Our goal is to unite the campus by connecting people interested in creating positive political change on campus, and to try and prevent the easy apathy that comes from being part of such a large system. We want to create a community of people who care for each other and about the world around them. As a chapter of YDSA, we intend to be a student organization that brings together at BU students who, while passionate about many issues and frustrated with our current political system in this country, find themselves tired of typical party politics. We intend to offer a principled socialist organization that does not just focus on one issue, and instead works to bring together students of all different backgrounds and interests to work towards a better future both for BU and for the country and against the abuses of a system that focuses on profit alone. We want to educate and organize students and young people, and to play a helpful and principled role in the movement for social justice. We seek social change which extends democracy into all aspects of life ‐‐ social, political and economic, and we will be an organization that works together to create that change. We are a chapter of YDSA (Young Democratic Socialists of America).
