Human Powered Submarine (HPS) designs and builds a fully-flooded human-powered submarine to compete against other universities. Our mission is to preserve and innovate existing approaches to marine engineering, specifically those relevant to the propulsion, guidance, and manufacturing of submarine design. We offer our members hands-on engineering skills that are not easily acquired in the classroom environment, as well as opportunities to develop engineering intuition, team communication skills, and critical thinking.
