Mission
During seven sessions of varying length (from the end of June to mid-September), Summer Sessions offers over 600 courses, including online courses, and works with faculty and departments to develop unique learning experiences in special courses and programs well suited to the summer term.
Summer Sessions makes it possible for students to get a head start and to make progress toward their degree year-round, with financial aid and housing available. Each year we welcome over 9,000 students to UC Santa Barbara for Summer Sessions.
Enrollment in Summer Session is open to everyone -- UC Santa Barbara students, visiting students from UCs and other US colleges, international and qualified high school students. No matter what type of student you are, only in-state unit fee prices apply.
Additionally, Summer Sessions welcomes the campus and broader Santa Barbara communities to enjoy the films, plays and events of the Summer Culture and Community Program and the engaging summer lecture series, GRITtalks.
