alpha Kappa Delta Phi was established at the University of California at Berkeley in the Fall of 1989 and was recognized by the College Panhellenic Association on February 7, 1990. The founding sisters dedicated themselves to establishing a strong and lasting organization which would provide Asian American women the opportunity to participate in the Greek system. Soon after being recognized by the College Panhellenic Association the founding sisters brought together a diverse group of women who shared with them the goals of sisterhood, scholarship, and leadership. These ideals were to later set the foundation for alpha Kappa Delta Phi's purpose. The sisterhood has since then spread to prominent university campuses, with over 60 chapters across the nation, and 2 chapters in Canada, making us the first and only international Asian-interest sorority. alpha Kappa Delta Phi is the largest and fastest growing Asian-American interest sorority in the nation. It is the sincere wish of the founding sisters and the charter class that alpha Kappa Delta Phi continues to promote Asian Awareness in the community and leadership opportunities for women by providing each woman with the resources, unique sisterly support, and understanding to achieve her goals in life.
ETA CHAPTER HISTORY The Eta Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi was founded in the fall of 1993 at the University of Texas at Austin. Since then, alpha Kappa Delta Phi has grown and expanded into one of the most well-established Asian-American interest sororities on campus. The sisters of Eta Chapter of alpha Kappa Delta Phi are among the most active and visible student leaders within the sorority, the campus, and the community. As a sorority, we work with a variety of other organizations on campus to promote Asian-Awareness, academics, and philanthropy. alpha Kappa Delta Phi is one of the few Asian-interest Greek organizations that make up the Texas Asian Pan-Hellenic Council (TAPC) along with the sisters of Alpha Sigma Rho, Kappa Phi Gamma, Kappa Phi Lambda, Sigma Phi Omega and the brothers of Gamma Beta, Delta Epsilon Psi, Lambda Phi Epsilon, and Omega Phi Gamma.
