Founded in 2022 as a self-led group of cellists from the UTUO cello section, Cellos At Texas has grown into a vibrant cello choir ensemble, primarily composed of non-music major cellists from across the University of Texas. Our mission is to create a supportive and fun community, welcoming cellists from diverse fields and skill levels to celebrate our shared passion for music and cello playing. While we focus on the joy of playing together, we also take pride in our high-performance standards. As a cello choir, we are part of what many consider to be one of the most harmonious and powerful ensemble types, showcasing a unique sound that only a same-instrument group can create. Our repertoire includes both original and arranged pieces, from classical masterpieces to contemporary pop.
