Global Brigades is the world's largest student-led movement for global health and holistic development. Global Medical Brigades aims to provide pre-professional students with the opportunity to gain real life experience in the medical field through the study and application of hands-on training in rural Latin America, Greece, and Ghana while offering their services to the community at large. GMB is the leading volunteer-based international medicine organization, with a dedication to both providing care to underserved populations, and sustainable public health development at UT Austin. Students work in pop-up medical clinics, provide public health education workshops, while also serving the Austin community as well.
We pride ourselves in hosting one of the most diverse groups of people at UT, made up of not only pre-health professions students, but also liberal arts, business, engineering and other majors. No previous training is required. In addition to all the volunteer opportunities, the organization offers ample resources to help prepare for crucial exams such as the MCAT; as well as guidance and support through upper classmen and professional guest speakers in the healthcare field.
