Graduate Organization for Comparative Literature Students
Academic
Our purpose is to be a resource for new and continuing students, with our mentor program helping orient our new cohorts to life in Austin both on and off campus. GRACLS meetings are open to the community and an opportunity to create and maintain connections. The annual GRACLS conference fosters interdisciplinarity by engaging with our colleagues in COLA and at other universities. The GRACLS service program, Reading World Literature, allows students to give back to the community through teaching. By this fall, we hope to integrate the program into Comparative Literature curriculum and to make it an official COLA program. GRACLS is constantly working to improve our organization’s efforts, be they related to roundtables on the Qualifying exams, our conference, or social events. Since Comparative Literature is so diverse, the work of the GRACLS organization is imperative to keeping the community together.
