The University of Texas at Austin Health Science Scholars Program (HSS) recognizes an elite group of applicants who have applied to the College of Natural Sciences who have future goals and aspirations somewhere in the health care field. HSS provides you priority access the College's honors courses, enrollment in our nationally recognized Freshman Research Initiative, participation in an extensive choice of clinical and research internships, and access to a wide array of merit scholarships specifically designed for health profession students. During your four years in HSS, you will participate in faculty led and health professional led seminars and workshops designed to let you explore the health related sciences and professions as we challenge you to find just right professional school and career. The program also requires participation in an internship or intensive experience in the health science area of your choice. Since the HSS program is not an academic major, students in the program can be enrolled in any major in the College of Natural Sciences. Our program also has dedicated academic advisors who will help you to succeed in all aspects of the college experience. HSS students are eligible for housing in the Honors Residential Community as well. This website is coordinated by the Health Science Scholars Council, a group of peer elected student part of the HSS program whose aim is to povide communication towards the community on all that the UT Health Science Scholars Program accomplishes.
