When does your organization recruit new members? (fall, spring, etc.)
We hold rush during both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Does the organization require an application? An interview? An audition? a training? probationary period before acceptance into full membership?
In order to apply, rushee's are required to attend an Information Session + Meet & Greet, Boba Chat, and fill out an application through Google Forms. We currently do not have a probationary period before acceptance into full membership.
Approximately how many hours per week do non-exec/general members spend on your organization's activities once accepted?
General members spend about 1 hour a week attending events offered through Kappa Theta Pi. We have 3-4 social, 3-4 technical, and 3-4 professional events throughout the semester -- so about 9-12 events in total. This leads to there being about one event per week. Each of our professional and technical events are about an hour long, while social events vary in length.
Does your organization collect membership dues? What is the cost and frequency of due payments?
Yes, our dues are $150 as of Spring 2024. We collect dues once a semester. Seniors get a discounted rate, as well as an option for a socials only membership which is $75. A majority of our dues go to retreat in the spring, then food, and finally merchandise etc.
