The Longhorn Marketing Consulting Group at the University of Texas at Austin offers students hands-on marketing experience by working on real-world projects, building strategies, and creating professional connections. Our organization prioritizes teamwork, analytical skills, and leadership in the marketing field through workshops, professor info sessions, and networking events. Membership is open to all students, and members actively participate in project work by acquiring clients, conducting analyses, and developing marketing strategies. Additionally, members improve their presentation skills through weekly pitching workshops. The leadership structure includes a President, Treasurer, Recorder, and Head of Recruitment, along with other positions created as needed. Officers manage the organization’s operations, finances, internal and external communications, and recruitment processes. Elections for leadership positions are held at the end of each semester, with a democratic voting process ensuring fair and transparent selection. If two individuals wish to co-hold a position, approval from 66% of the executive board is required. The Treasurer oversees all financial matters, including dues collection and event budgeting, while the Recorder ensures efficient internal operations, recruitment, and member management. Meetings are held weekly for executives and biweekly for all members, fostering collaboration and providing updates on project progress. Amendments to the constitution can be made with a two-thirds majority vote, ensuring the organization remains adaptable and responsive to member input.
