Providing “Entertainment in the Finest College Tradition,” Longhorn Singers was founded in 1958 by Dr. Morris Beachy by joining together the men’s and women’s glee clubs of the school of music into one ensemble. He envisioned new group for the university, one that joined singers from all educational backgrounds to promote a sense of Texas pride—both for our school and our state. Now, half a century later, the group has evolved into who we are today: the premier show choir of The University of Texas at Austin.
