Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. is dedicated to community service, academic achievement, cultural awareness, and sisterhood. Although SLA was historically founded as a Latina-based sorority, we pride ourselves in our commitment to retain members from all backgrounds.Thanks to our diversity we continue to grow as an organization in service, leadership, unifying the Greek community, and creating a stronger bond as sisters.
We strive to shape strong and independent women into leaders who excel in their local and national communities. Founded in 1992, our outstanding sisters are agents of change in their fields of study and universities. With a focus on excellence and professionalism, we utilize our academic experiences to make a positive impact and uplift the Latinx community, not only at the University of Texas at Austin but society as a whole.
