At the core of everything UT SWE does is our mission to create a welcoming community that allows women engineering students to develop as leaders. With our membership of students spanning all engineering disciplines, we hope that each member can find in SWE a community of friends, a professional network, and a wealth of resources to help them achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders.
UT SWE hopes to create an environment focused on inclusivity and diversity and to inspire women engineers by pushing them to empower themselves and others. SWE will focus on fostering relationships with minority engineering student organizations, developing more opportunities for member leadership development, and building lasting relationships within and outside our section. We're looking forward to co-hosting events with other minority in engineering organizations, expanding a leadership development program called Project SWE, and building lasting relationships with high schools and SWE alumni in the Austin community.
We hold a variety of weekly events that can be broken down into four categories: advancement, outreach, professional development, and socials. Some of our signature events include Ice Cream Social, Networking Night, Leadership Retreat, and our K-12 Camps. Our general meetings occur every other Tuesday from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
