The purpose of Texas Latin Dance is to promote the art of Latin Dance to the UT and Austin community. As a dance organization, we intend to build and enhance the dance skills of our new and returning members, whose experience with Latin Dancing, specifically, can range from none to ample. Throughout this process, we seek to manifest an awareness of the importance of dance in Latin America historically, culturally, and socially as well as the global impact of Latin Dance that transcends ethnicities. We offer our members weekly dance classes in the different genres we teach, as well as social events, club parties, dance outings, workshops with professionals, and individual practices. For those who seek to reach a more advanced level of dance, we offer Dance Companies in Bachata, Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue and other genres that meet for practice individually and perform at our annual Spring Showcase, along with other UT and Austin dance organizations/companies.
