Academic
Texas Novas was established in Spring 2019 with a shared goal among its founding members: to create an organization where everyone feels welcome to be their true, authentic selves. We strive to "Be a Light" on campus by embracing our five pillars: diversity, service, friendship, academics, and spirit.
Diversity
We warmly welcome members from all backgrounds into our organization. We cherish the unique perspectives and excitement that each member brings to our organization. We actively seek to expand our cultural understanding by attending diverse events and celebrating our differences. Our goal is to reflect the rich diversity of our world within our community.
Service
We are passionate about giving back to our community. From donating to food banks, cleaning up Lady Bird Lake to taking care of our beautiful Texas beaches, we actively seek out new opportunities to make a positive impact. We believe that with our diverse group comes diverse passions, so we offer a variety of service projects to ensure there's something for everyone to get excited about.
Friendship
We value fostering meaningful relationships with every member through fun and interactive social events throughout the year. From painting sessions and enjoying movie nights together, we believe in creating memorable experiences. Additionally, we also do coffee socials to provide opportunities to explore Austin, study together, and strengthen our bonds while having a great time!
Academics
We prioritize academic success alongside our close-knit community, making it easy to participate in the organization. Understanding the busy college life, we've designed opportunities for Novas to study together through our fun group study sessions. Additionally, we keep commitments light and encourage members to share study photos for points, making studying a fun and rewarding experience for all!
Spirit
Texas Novas are true Longhorns at heart! We take pride in supporting our fellow UT students by attending on-campus events such as sand volleyball games and acappella performances. This year, we're excited to cheer on some of our members participating in the Longhorn Run!
