What is Mock Trial?: Texas Mock Trial is a competitive team where members travel to competitions across the country and compete as attorneys and witnesses using a new criminal or civil case each year. Members are coached by real trial attorneys, learn the federal rules of evidence, and how to write and deliver materials like opening and closing statements. Competing on Texas Mock Trial provides UT students with an opportunity to experience at an undergraduate level what being a trial attorney is like!
We want YOU! After finishing in the top three in the nation last season and being the only mock trial team in Texas to compete at the National Championship tournament in three consecutive years, we want to recruit talented individuals who have the potential to become strong advocates! Don't worry if you have no prior mock trial, debate, or theatre experience—we would love to have you! See you at tryouts!
How can I join? Texas Mock Trial holds tryouts every September. We will hold three info sessions at the start of school.
