All with Worldly Social Change aims to create an anti-oppressive space for NYU students to engage in radical political education and action. It is a coalition across NYU with roots in social work. Our mission is to critically examine and dismantle the oppressive roles social workers have historically played by providing education grounded in radical leftist and abolitionist traditions. We are committed to centering the voices and experiences of marginalized students and communities through reciprocal knowledge sharing, critical pedagogy, and accessible organizing. Our collective upholds anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-colonial values and the self-determination of all oppressed peoples. We envision alternative practices of transformative justice, mutual aid, and community care that are collaborative, compassionate, and accountable to those we serve. Through political action, critical discussion, and imaginative community building, we seek to foster liberatory practices of social work education and organizing. Our Core Values are Abolition, Advocacy, Ambition, Accountability, Accessibility, Wisdom, being (W)holistic, Social Justice, Sustainability, Community, Collectivism, Cultural Humility, and Creativity; all modeled after the letters “AWSC”.
